Document Preparation Tools to make Fax-on-Demand Easy

V*Channel, Inc. produces software tools to make fax document preparation and administration easy. V*Channel's FAXVC Print Driver Control Program works with the Print-2-Image (P2I) Print Driver to produce, assign a document number, view, and store fax-ready image files. Optionally, it also enables you to catalog the document in V*Channel’s Doc-2-Fax database. These programs are designed specifically for producing fax ready document files for FAXLink’s fax on demand application.

Both programs are critically important to make it easy for you to maintain your fax on demand documents. The P2I print driver captures the Windows document to a faxable image formatted file. The FAXVC Print Driver Control Program provides the interface to name and catalog the faxable image file(s) that is produced by the P2I print driver. By using the P2I print driver in conjunction with the FAXVC Print Driver Control Program, fax-ready document image files can be named and copied to the appropriate drive location so FAXLink can locate them for faxing. Providing you an easy to use environment to produce and update the fax–on-demand library of documents.

The FAXVC Print Driver Control Program will automatically find the appropriate path based on the document number you choose for the document and the path you assign to document number ranges. If you use the Doc-2-Fax database, you can choose to locate the fax ready image files in any directory/folder you want as long as the path and filename is logged in the Doc-2-Fax database; using the default path will make it easy to keep track of the files.

Features

Select the Print-to-File Option  Whenever you print a document in a Windows application using the P2I print driver a small options dialog box will appear. You can put the document into the fax on demand document library by choosing the ‘Print-to-File’ option, you can ‘Broadcast’ it to many, you can fax it without attaching any other documents from the fax document library or you can add attachments. In addition, you can add other Windows documents to the one just print driven.

Whenever you are creating documents to be stored in the fax on demand library of documents you would choose ‘Print-to-File’ and the Print Driver Control Program will open.

Three Ways to Go

FAXVC has three ways to include documents in the fax on demand library of documents.  When you use the FAXVC Print Driver Control in Manual Mode you have complete control over where the print driven files are written/saved.  When you use the print driver control program in the Automatic Mode you let the program determine the destination of the print driven files based on the document number and a predefined directory path in the DocPagePath database.

Integrates with Doc-2-Fax DB

You can also use the Doc-2-Fax database to catalog and register the document number with the location of the document fax ready files. FAXVC will write a new record or update an existing record that is associated with the document number you specify. You can elect to use the default directory location assigned by FAXLink or store/locate the fax ready image files anywhere you like.
